The Bigattiera Farmhouse
The Bigattiera Farmhouse, today Tenuta di Santa Lucia, is located within a farm of 160 hectares, where silkworms were once bred, an activity practiced in our areas in the second half of 1700.
To this day, in the lounge that houses a big central column, it is possible to grasp the configuration of the farmhouse at the time of sericulture. For this reason, with the restoration made throughout the years, we maintained its original architecture, preserving all the beams and walls made of “peperino”, a typical stone of the Tuscia territory.

Tenuta di Santa Lucia, property of the Trua family from the early 19th century, is today an organic and biological farm. Along the road that leads to the ancient Bigattiera farmhouse, you cross wheat fields, olive groves, hazel groves and meadows of wild herbs. Due to the multitude of flowers, we obtain pleasant and extremely healthy wildflower honey. We produce biological extra virgin olive oil, hazelnuts, seasonal vegetables, blackberries and raspberries that we transform and use in our home kitchen.
The family management, the care, the authenticity of the products and the wonderful landscape, ensure that your stay in our country house will become an experience of relax and ancient flavours.

Stayed here a couple of years ago. Peaceful relaxing place to chill for a couple of days or more. Grounds, inn, rooms, pools and restaurant /food all excellent. Hostess and chef were friendly, helpful and fun to talk to.
